RESPEC has an opening for a temporary part-time engineering intern in the Mining & Energy Division in the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, office. The intern will be expected to work 40 hours a week during the summer with an option to work an average of 10 to 30 hours per week during the spring semester. Primary activities geotechnical core logging, engineering support, data analysis and drilling activity support. Supplemental activities may involve design and assessment of ground support systems, conventional geotechnical analyses, mine planning and field work. The successful candidate will work under the direct supervision of experienced engineering staff in these areas.
Qualifications:
- Must be a 3rd or 4th year level student, working toward a bachelor of science or advanced degree in engineering or geology.
- Strong computer skills, especially in using finite element software, spreadsheets and structural analysis software are required
- Excellent interpersonal skills, be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally, and be self-motivated.
Compensation: Hourly wage depends on education and experience, plus statutory insurance requirements.
